Your teams' success equates to yours. Your ability to inspire and develop people is critical to your own future. The higher you climb up the leadership ladder, the more you depend on others' success and strengths to achieve key objectives and goals. Whether you are on-boarding entry-level hires or working with a long-standing team, there are essential measures that supervisors of all experience levels can use to develop a strong, cohesive team.

This module examines several ways that supervisors develop their teams, including teaching/training, coaching/mentoring, motivating/inspiring, and valuing the generational diversity that exists within most teams.

This module teaches the values, skills, and actions associated with supervision and being a leader.

  1. Explain the adult learning process.
  2. Develop training goals and objectives.
  3. Develop a simple lesson plan for a training session.
  4. Employ feedback tools to measure the effectiveness of your training program.
  5. Identify and describe effective coaching.
  6. Know how to be a good mentor.
  7. Apply good mentoring in the workplace.
  8. Learn how to properly motivate employees and teams.

Business, Industry, Nonprofits, & Agencies - Make the transition to supervisor, new manager orientation to leadership and business operations, use as a refresher course for leaders, develop skills for coaching and mentoring, and identify actions to take to motivate and inspire performance.
